Diversity Activities Board

The Diversity Activities Board is a committee that welcomes representatives from diverse organizations/clubs on campus to participate in programming for the Union Activities Board. This committee is different from the other UAB committees in that organizations/clubs have the opportunity to submit a proposal and receive funding for events that they are planning.Our mission is to promote, produce, facilitate, and educate by conducting events that help students to raise their awareness of and appreciation for other backgrounds, cultures and perspectives.

Our signature events are the Cultural Show and Taste of NC State. We also aid other student organizations and administrative offices by co-sponsoring cultural shows and diversity events on campus.

Our goals for the upcoming year are to promote collaborations between various student groups and campus offices, and to expand the membership of the Board to include representatives from more student organizations and to educate the NC State Community about diversity on campus.

As a committee chair, I organize and plan bi-weekly meetings, receive, review, and approve funding proposals submitted by various organizations, plan diversity events, and promote collaborations between the organizations represented on the board. This is in addition to a minimum of 6 office hours, attending bi-weekly UAB meetings, planning and working large scale UAB events, and meeting one-on-one with my advisor.
