UAB Summer 2013 Internship Position<br />
Office Location: Harrelson Hall<br />

Report To: UAB Advisors &#038; UAB President<br />
Term of Service: May 20, 2013 – August 24, 2013<br />
Description of the position: This position serves as the primary summer event programmer for the UAB as well as serves as an ambassador of UAB programs, student leaders and staff. This position helps build relationships with other student organizations for sponsoring events and working together.</p>
<p>Requirements:<br />
• Registered fulltime at NCSU during school year<br />
• Minimum 2.5 GPA both semester and cumulative<br />
• In good standing with the University, both academically and civically<br />
• Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, flexible with academic program</p>
<p>Major Tasks:<br />
• UAB Summer Activities (60%)<br />
o Execute the mission of the Union Activities Board summer programming<br />
o Develop and execute event marketing targeted at summer student residents (in North, Wolf Village, King Village and Western Manor)<br />
o Coordinate ongoing UAB promotions in collaboration with off campus promoters (ie. Walnut Creek, Red Hat Amphitheater and the PNC Center)<br />
o Execute Campus Cinema promotions as planned by the Associate Director of Student Involvement (ie. marketing, poster giveaways, and schedule distribution)<br />
o Represent UAB and its programs at Student Organization Fair</p>
<p>Wolfpack Welcome Week Logistics (30%)<br />
o Assist in the development of UAB’s Wolfpack Welcome Week Events<br />
o Assist in sponsorship agreements for Wolfpack Welcome Week<br />
o Attend Student Involvement Team Meetings<br />
o Assist with general office operations (ie. answering phone, faxing, meeting and greeting guests, answering questions, providing customer service, event calendar posting) for Student Involvement</p>
<p>Other Duties as Assigned (10%)</p>
<p>Skills Desired:<br />
Administrative leadership, marketing, event management, communication, listening, conflict management, time management, organization skills, motivation, and having an open mind<br />
Primary Supervisor: This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Student Involvement (Rick Gardner). This position also has a strong relationship with the UAB President (Shelby Jones), who is ultimately responsible for carrying out summer programs as defined by the UAB Constitution.<br />
