Publicity

The mission of the Publicity Committee is to promote and publicize the Union Activities Board and its events through the use of various marketing techniques. It aims to do so via word-of-mouth, print and multimedia, including, but not limited to, promotional flyers, posters and handbills, buttons, t-shirts, water bottles, stickers, a website and online social networks.

The goals for the upcoming year are to push the envelope creatively in encouraging more students to become more active in the UAB, and to effectively re-brand the UAB so that it is a more widely recognizable campus organization.

The committee will also utilize social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr to appeal to more Wolfpackers.

The Publicity Chair is currently seeking at least 4–5 highly motivated volunteers to serve on this year’s committee in marketing, creative and/or communications capacities.

Meetings will be held every other Tuesday from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the UAB office, 1st floor of Talley, beginning on August 25, 2009.
