The Issues and Ideas Committee provides students with an open forum for learning about social issues that are either foreign or domestic in nature. In the past, the Issues and Ideas Committee has welcomed notable speakers and hosted debates. It is our hope that through such programming, students will expand their knowledge base outside of the college classroom.
Our mission is to provide students with information about current issues and a forum in which to discuss them.
Our goals are to engage the campus in discussions about current and pressing issues in hopes of inspiring a collective desire to promote a peaceful world.
Meetings will be held every other Wednesday at 7–8 p.m. in the UAB office, 1st floor Talley Student Center, beginning September 9, 2009.
